He slid (very successfully) right into her DMs.
Netflix’s new
Selling Sunset spin-off, Selling the OC, is bringing with it a whole new cast of real estate agents for everyone to obsess over. And, sure, while it’s *technically* a show about real estate, the agents’ personal lives have a funny way of getting into the mix. Not that anyone minds that! Although, I’m sure Chrishell Stause has some thoughts on the topic.
One new OC star you’re bound to have big Qs about is one very tall and very, very handsome Tyler Stanaland. The new agent is actually married to actress Brittany Snow (of Pitch Perfect fame) and the two have a really cute love story.
These two keep their romance pretty under wraps, but they have shared a few details about their love over the years. Here’s what you need to know.
Brittany and Tyler first started dating in 2018 after crushing hardcore on each other from a distance.
While they had some friends in common, Tyler went about things the old fashioned way and, instead of waiting to swipe right, he decided to just slide straight into Brittany’s DMs. Despite a "really lame pickup line," (which is what Brittany told People), things seem to have worked out just fine for Tyler so far.
Brittany told People that their first date was dinner at a local Mexican restaurant.
"We got tacos after years of being infatuated with one another and forgot how to speak entirely," Tyler shared. "There was a certain amount of tequila consumed, and then we just started talking a lot. Then we fell in love and nothing’s really changed, we’re still eating tacos and margaritas together."
Brittany and Tyler got engaged on February 19, 2019, but they kept things pretty quiet for a while.
In an Instagram post that’s since been removed (why, you ask? It’s unclear), Brittany wrote, “A couple weeks ago, I said ‘YES’ about a million times to the man of my wildest & most beautiful dreams. After celebrating with friends and family, we wanted to let a few more friends (you guys) know… this happened?”
Brittany said she was “still pinching myself and thanking my lucky stars for the truest feeling I’ve ever felt.”
Tyler also posted about the engagement—and that has also been removed. “You are the most beautiful, intelligent, thoughtful, caring, incredible human and I couldn’t be more excited to do life with you,” he said. “Here’s to forever and making our wildest dreams come true. Love you to the moon and back. ????.”
Apparently, these two can’t get enough of each other because they decided to throw a joint bach/bachelorette party together right before getting hitched, per US Weekly.
“The guys and girls will do separate things one night, and then we’re going to meet up for a joint day of fun,” Tyler said. “I just want to celebrate with my best friend.”
“He’s my Prince Charming come to life, but he’s a surfer," Brittany added.
Right before everything shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Tyler and Brittany tied the knot in Malibu. It rained on their wedding day *cue Alanis Morissette*, and the ceremony was outdoors, Brittany told The Knot.
"It was the location of our dreams,” Brittany said. “We wanted something that felt intimate, warm, beautiful and scenic."
Brittany said that the couple “got a tent as insurance” which was a good thing because “it rained right until the ceremony started.”
“Had we not brought in a tent, which isn’t cheap, everyone would’ve been in the cold rain,” she added.
It looks like the couple kept the music and margaritas flowing the whole time because, TBH, the event looked nothing short of spectacular.
In 2021, Brittany shared the sweetest tribute to Tyler on Instagram for his birthday.
“How did I get so lucky. I love you like crazy, you perfectly handsome, selfless, dorky, funny, nerd,” she wrote. “You are an actual dream come true & you make me believe in all the good things. I LOVE YOU. Happy bday husband @tylerstanaland.”
Okay, CUTE!
Brittany hasn’t spoken publicly on her views related to her husband’s new reality show, and don’t expect to see her on the show. She’s been busy gearing up for her directorial debut on her film, September 17th, that’s set to come out soon.
"She’s supportive," Tyler told ET. "I have what makes the most sense in my career, and she has what makes the most sense in her career, and kind of whatever is best, we do, and we support, and I think that’s what makes our relationship successful."
The two don’t seem to have posted much with each other in recent months. Tyler’s latest appearance on Brittany’s IG goes back to October of 2021, and his most recent post with her in it goes back to September of 2021.
And even though they’re posting each other less often, Brittany is sure to leave sweet comments on her hubby’s Instagrams, and especially the ones featuring with their shared pup, Charlie, in them. "Best dad ?," she commented on one pic from April.
One thing’s for certain: These two lovebirds certainly look good together!
