Red carpet moment? ✅ Insta launch? ✅
When Lizzo pretty much confirmed in April 2022 via
an Andy Cohen interview that she was in a relationship and really really happy, the internet was understandably freaking out over who her lover could possibly be.
The songstress notably married herself in 2017’s “Truth Hurts” video continuing that narrative in her 2022 "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)" music video by running away from the altar. Lizzo even engaged in flirty DMs with Chris Evans and poked fun at her relationship status during her SNL hosting monologue saying, “They think I’m collecting members of One Direction like Infinity Stones. I even heard a rumor that I’m pregnant with Chris Evans’s baby. I have no idea where that one started. It could be the TikTok I did where I said, ‘I am pregnant with Chris Evans’s baby.’ It’s called manifesting.”
Yep, Lizzo kept the identity of her boo under wraps until June 2022 when she confirmed that she is dating Myke Wright. The actor served as the “Good as Hell” songstress’ plus-one to the screening of her Prime Video show Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls. So if you want to know the full ‘ship because you are super curious or have just popped by to see what’s up with Lizzo romance because she’s the love of your life (same), we’ve got the deets you need below.
"I have the most genuine people around me. They don’t give a s–t about Lizzo with the chain on. They care about Melissa, and everyone I’m close with has known me before all of this happened and I think that’s important," Lizzo explained in an interview with The Breakfast Club. "Even the man I’m with, he knew me before all of this too. We were friends. It hit different when they knew you before 2019."
The *adorable* couple made their official red carpet debut at a "For Your Consideration" event for Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls reality competition series. The singer posted a pic of her and Myke getting photos taken as well as a snap of them holding hands in an IG carousel.
The moment we had all been waiting for happened during an interview on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy. Lizzo confirmed that she was seeing someone special who wasn’t bothered by her success. "If you have the right person, no, not at all. [Fame is] not even a factor," she explained about her relationship.
Supportive boyfriend alert! Myke was seen walking side-by-side with Lizzo into the after-party for her SNL episode.
All masked up with places to be, the two were seen walking together and holding hands. Though Lizzo had yet to announce that they were officially together, we think this pic speaks for itself.
Lizzo *finally* clued fans in that she was in a relationship by sharing an Instagram video of her laughing and kissing a man who was sitting out of the frame. She captioned the reel "Happyyyyyyyyyyyy."
The Sun snapped photos of the Lizzo and Myke (who at the time was a mystery man) getting cozy on the balcony of her Malibu house. But Lizzo quickly denied dating rumors by posting a clip on Instagram caption "Single." They continued to be photographed throughout the year by the paparazzi.
Way back in 2016, Lizzo and Wright worked together as cohosts and stars of MTV’s live-performance music show Wonderland. Look how cute they are in this throwback pic!
