As arguably the best pound for pound active boxer today, most times that you hear the name of Canelo Álvarez you’re likely to think of his prowess inside the ring. This time around, however, we’ll be taking a look at something much less talked about: his love life.
Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on July 18th, 1990, Santos Saúl Álvarez Barragán known to us all as Canelo Álvarez is a Mexican professional Boxer and quite frankly one of the greatest ever to step in a ring. With multiple World Championships to his name in in almost four weight classes – light middleweight to light heavyweight – Canelo is the first boxer ever to become Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion. Additionally, the Mexican has also held the WBA(Super), WBC and Ring magazine titles since the year 2020. With his third fight against Gennady Golovkin fast approaching, he’s once again under the spotlight, which brings us to his personal life and the women who have been and currently are part of it.

A father of four, Canelo has children between four different women. The first of those is Karen Beltran who was Álvarez’s high school sweetheart. Indeed, at the tender age of 16-years-old Álvarez and Beltran came to the realization that she was pregnant. With that, daughter Emily Cinnamon Álvarez was born to the young couple and for a time things seemed stable. Eventually, however, the couple would separate though Canelo maintains a close relationship with his daughter to this day. Álvarez would later date model Valeria Quiroz, with whom he would have a daughter named Mia Ener. Following his brief relationship with Quiroz, Canelo would later fall for Nadia Sepulveda, who was also his business partner. The couple would welcome a son in 2019, whom they named Saul Adiel Sepulveda. Once again, a split would be on the cards and as such Canelo and Nadia called it quits. It is understood that they maintain a healthy relationship.
Today Canelo Álvarez is married to Fernanda Gomez. Born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on June 22nd in 1996, Gomez is a model, businesswoman and social media influencer with more than 1 million followers on Instagram. The owner nail salons and stores in Guadalajara, Mexico, Gomez has a current net worth of $20 million. In terms of how they met, Canelo and Fernanda first crossed paths at an OMB Gala in October of 2016. It is understood, that during those initial times the relationship was not stable and in keeping with that the couple would actually separate just a year later in 2017. They would later return to each other in 2018 and would soon welcome the birth of their daughter, Maria Fernanda Álvarez.

The now happy couple, would later marry on the 15th of May 2022 in a lavish ceremony just a few short days after Canelo defeated Billy Joe Saunders for the WBO middleweight title. Though not much is known about their relationship, Maria continues to be a fixture at Álvarez’s fights, which is to say you can expect to see her when her husband takes on Gennady Golovkin this very weekend.
